Xandra And Ryan's Beautiful Outdoor Wisconsin Wedding at Hayvn At Hay River /  by Bradley Hanson

Hayvn at Hay River in Wisconsin is a farm based venue owned by the bride, Xandra, and her family since 2019. Because of the pandemic, the grand opening was significantly delayed until recently. It’s tucked away in an area of Wisconsin with beautiful rolling hills, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. But during the wedding, it felt like the center of the universe because there were so many beautiful things to photograph in every direction.

Xandra is a graphic designer, and her vision for the venue is that it will feel like, as the name implies, a haven for a great day. From the venue: “Located just an hour from the Twin Cities area and 10 minutes from Menomonie, Hayvn at Hay River is nestled among picturesque rolling hills. Our newly renovated venue accommodates up to 225 guests and offers both indoor and outdoor locations to customize your day. The grounds allow plenty of space for lawn games, cocktails on the patio, bonfires and gorgeous views of the countryside. Sarah And Peter's Lake Minnetonka Summer Boat Wedding In Minnesota /  by Bradley Hanson

Sarah and Peter got married on the Bella Vista cruise ship on Lake Minnetonka, after getting ready with the wedding party at the nearby Guest House in Excelsior on the main strip there.

From Sarah: “We have a love of travel and have learned to be spontaneous with it with Peter’s tricky pilots schedule. We take advantage however and whenever we are able. Our first trip ever as a couple after 1 month of dating was driving through a blizzard a few hours to Chicago to go to the Vincent Van Gogh exhibit. Next up was a week in Negril, Jamaica on a beach like lazy sea turtles and cliff jumping. And following that we packed a singular backpack, headed to the airport for our 5 year anniversary to jump on any flight stand-by that we’d be lucky enough to sit Delta One cabin. We ended up on the most romantic 48 hour trip to Paris and back. We landed in a rain storm, hopped on a bus straight to the Eiffel Tower and as we climbed the stairs amongst the first to arrive, the sun peaked through the clouds rewarding us for our journey. Museums, walking the hidden streets, lovely coffee, and home again. Knowing we have all our lives to add to our list of adventures.”

A favorite photo of mine was just selected as a winning photo by World's Best Wedding Photos and Rangefinder out of over 1500 worldwide entries for this contest on wedding silhouettes. It was taken with the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and the 14mm lens.

Wedding reception toast at sunset in Sonoma, CA

One of my images was featured by the website World’s Best Wedding Photos, along with other wedding images that are on the theme of silhouettes. This image was something I saw while digging through my camera bag at a wedding reception in wine country of Sonoma, CA. Of all the photographs taken during the reception, this one not only best communicated the celebratory nature of the wedding, but was new territory for me visually, although I have a number of silhouettes in my portfolio. Maya and Vilas' Autumn Wedding At Mill City Museum And McNamara Event Center In Minneapolis /  by Bradley Hanson

Maya and Vilas had a two day Indian wedding in Minneapolis. Day one was at the lovely and historic Mill City Museum on the Mississippi River near the Stone Arch Bridge, and Day two was at the massive McNamara Event Center in Minneapolis on the University of Minnesota campus. They live in New York, but got married here because this is where Maya grew up.

Andrea And Kearney's Autumn Wedding At Mill City Museum On The Mississippi River In Minneapolis /  by Bradley Hanson

Andrea And Kearney's wedding took place at various locations around Minneapolis over the course of 4 days. Day 1 was an evening get together on the top deck at the Minikahda Club, Day 2 was a sunset event at the Kearney home in the Kenwood neighborhood of Minneapolis near the Walker Art Center. Day 3 was a full day, beginning with getting ready at Lake Of The Isles, then a wedding ceremony at the oldest church in Minneapolis, Our Lady Of Lourdes, a mere two blocks from the Mississippi River on Main Street, then a reception at the wonderful and historic Mill City Museum. Day 4 was a breakfast hangout at Andrea’s parents home.

There are far too many favorite images to share them all here. All of the images below are from Saturday, the third day and only full day of photography. Rather than choose only favorites, I’m sharing the images that best give one a sense of the joy and excitement of what it was like to be there. I typically make multiple revisions of the gallery before and after posting, and I expect this trend to continue.
